Fond farewell to British School - thanks for sharing the Adventure

British School of Colombo: Year 6 2013
Welcome to the final blog for the 2013 Year 6 Youth Adventure Camp - we have a soft spot for the British School - our youngest group of students who join us faithfully year after year and every year amaze us with their enthusiasm, spirit and ability to shriek at near ear-drum piercing volumes!

This morning we woke up to a river which is still very much higher than the norm for this, or any, time of year. A decision was made last night that it simply wasn't a risk that we at Borderlands were willing to take, when it came to taking the students on the river - since the river at the moment simply doesn't have any flat water for the flat water rafting.

However the kids took this in tremendous good grace, and after a morning of rigorous warming up exercises

and a good natured, yet competitive Adventure Race - pitting 4 teams against each other, with a number of tasks which challenges the teams in terms of logistical and physical team work:

Well done to the teams in order of their final tallies:

1st Place: Dinos
2nd Place: KKR
Close Third: The Leeches
Beaten at the final hurdle: Wildfire

And well done to all the kids (and parents for allowing them) to really grab this opportunity to test their boundaries, face their fears and for generally being really great sports and for entertaining us with their skits, dancing, singing, shrieking and  we really, REALLY hope that you come back and see us again really soon.
