French School of Colombo Join us at Borderlands

Here at Borderlands we are really pleased to welcome back the students from the French School of Colombo. After a 2 year hiatus, we're thrilled that Ms Karine contacted us so that her students could come and experience some of the excitement of what Borderlands has to offer.

I think it's safe to say that the French School is the smallest student group we've worked with, and the smallest international school in Colombo - but it's wonderful to hear the sound of French being spoken at camp, and it's good for Kiki to practice French - he may be getting a bit rusty after 6 weeks with us!

As many of you will know we've experienced a very wet time up here in Kithulgala and the river is at an all time record high - certainly the highest we've seen it since our time - so despite the hope that we would be able to take the students rafting, the river decided otherwise.

So instead we introduced them to our new high ropes course, which seemed to keep at bay the disappointment of not being able to experience the raging river below.

The crate stacking challenge requires balance, dexterity, nerves of steel, a head for heights and stamina under pressure -  I have to say that some of the kids made it look like a total breeze! Especially three outstanding stackers! An impressive 11 crates for Lucy, Damini got to a towering 12 and a totally amazing 13 crates by Sasha.

We had some hungry folks on our hands this evening and nothing ends a super day like a marshmallow roast on the camp fire.

Not only our smallest school group, but possibly our most exhausted - not a peep after lights out!
Til tomorrow.......Bon Nuit!
