OSC Day 2: The Abseil Challenge

Our second day is our high ropes day - a trek through local rainforest, rubber and tea plantations bring the students to the top of Sandun Ella Waterfall, a spectacular location with stunning views of the mountains in the distance.

The descent down the waterfall is around 80ft (20 meters) and for some students represents a real challenge, overcoming a fear of heights, and even for those for who a fear of heights is not a problem, that first step over the ledge, will make the pulse race a little faster and, perhaps even without realising, sweat a little more!

OSC Week Without Walls: Day 1

Entering our 10th year of working with the Overseas School of Colombo, Borderlands is really excited to welcome this year's Grade 9 Class to our riverside camp in Kithulgala. As part of their Week Without Walls programme, OSC has a dedicated commitment to learning and youth development through Outdoor Education.

This year's intake consists of 31 students accompanied by three teachers - Miss Sonalee, Miss Celine and Mr Britton. All ready for an adventure of a lifetime.

During their 4 nights with us they will hopefully face and overcome new challenges, test their comfort and confidence zones, and  emerge as richer and more rounded individuals, with an ability to work as a strong team by supporting, encouraging and communicating with one another on a new level.

Here are some images of the first day's activities:
